Hello from Bow Valley Engage!
A short note to tell you the good news from yesterday afternoon: the Honourable Mr. Justice D. Reed dismissed two Applications filed by Three Sisters Mountain Village which sought to limit Bow Valley Engage's and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations's ability to challenge Alberta's decision not to require an environmental impact assessment for the contentious Smith Creek and Village developments.
Justice Reed’s decision ensures the matter will be judicially reviewed on November 19. He also asked TSMV to pay BVE's and the Stoney's legal costs for having to defend their actions against TSMV's unsuccessful attempt to quash them.
Go ahead and dust off your dancing shoes for the Happy Dance but remember this is only one of many steps to get this massive development properly assessed.
Yesterday was a good day for democracy!
Have a great weekend!
